With traditional shop fronts, colourful hanging flower baskets and a gorgeous view of Dublin Bay, picturesque Malahide is a homely village that retains its historic character. Visit the medieval castle, stroll to the marina and down to the beach, before discovering the town’s charming cafés and chic boutiques.
The jewel in Malahide’s crown is its spectacular Malahide Castle; one of Ireland's oldest castles. Tours regularly run inside, revealing what life was like for the Talbot family who lived there for almost 800 years. There are four main rooms open to the public, including the lavish Great Hall. An interactive exhibition on the ground floor retells not only the Talbots’ story, but the many ghostly figures that haunt the castle to this day!
